life, transformed

Today our pastor preached from Romans 16.  The haiku verses below reflect the points that he made …

A changed life, transformed
Helping, working, risking lives
Life of servanthood

A changed life, transformed
Searching, testing, knowing truth
Life of vigilance

A changed life, transformed
Minding, watching, holding fast
Life of victory

A changed life, transformed
Serving, studying, standing
Conformed … His image
~ original 2009

There is an old hymn that complements the sermon … challenges us to consider our own choices … will we follow Jesus?  In service, vigilance, and victory!?!

Who will follow Jesus,
Standing for the right,
Holding up His banner
In the thickest fight?
List’ning for His orders,
Ready to obey,
Who will follow Jesus,
Serving Him today?

Who will follow Jesus?
Who will make reply,
“I am on the Lord’s side;
Master, here am I”?
Who will follow Jesus?
Who will make reply,
“I am on the Lord’s side;
Master, here am I”?

Who will follow Jesus,
In His work of love,
Leading others to Him,
Lifting prayers above?
Courage, faithful servant!
In His Word we see,
On our side forever
Will this Savior be.
