hung on bare branches

A friend wrote on her facebook page that she was doing laundry again – like she does every weekend.  Her comment reminded me that much of life is lived in the everyday, humdrum, mundane.

I captured this picture as I left church yesterday …

lost on bare branches

The visual picture of the lost jacket reminds me that if we are not careful we forget to live in the moment, to remember that we are always wrapped up in God’s love.

The jacket hanging on bare branches speaks of life lost in the living, barren, stark, lonely.

The Scripture says, ” So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

Even in the everyday chores, the dishes, the laundry, the preparation of meals, the running of errands … God is there.  I don’t have to invite his presence into the moment … I only need to open up my mind, heart to the realization that he’s there … participating, celebrating the ordinariness of life with me.

It would be easy to wish one’s life away, to constantly live in the future … “when this happens, then I will … .”  Today I choose to live in the present, the gift of this quiet moment.

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
